Robert W. Gamache Memorial Educational Symposium Robert W. Gamache 1939-2008 The Rubber Division, ACS and Trostel Ltd. have partnered to create the Robert Gamache Memorial Educational Symposium, honoring the dedication to education that the former President and CEO showed during his nearly 50 years in the rubber industry. Working with the Education & Publications Committee, Trostel has agreed to fund the development and future offerings of this program in his memory. The first courses will be available during the Fall 2009 Rubber Expo in Pittsburgh, PA. Bob Gamache spent his youth in New Hampshire where he achieved a degree in engineering from the New Hampshire Technical College. He first joined Trostel as a Process Engineer in 1976 after 17 years with International Packings Corporation and four years with the Air National Guard. In 1985, Bob was appointed President of Trostel, where he aggressively purused new sales opportunities, expanded Trostel's markets globally and encouraged activities in research and development of designs, materials and processes. He grew Trostel's manufacturing capabilities by creating the Polymer Compounding Division, opening new manufacturing locations in Wisconsin and Mexico and acquired new mixing, molding and testing technologies. During his tenure, Trostel experienced substantial growth in both existing and new markets. In 2001, Bob retired as President and CEO of Trostel to sit on the Board of Directors for the Everett Smith Group for the next six years. He always believed in providing youth with the opportunity to develop and expand their capabilities, supporting both local youth and disabled adult organizations. An avid golfer and boating enthusiast, Bob was also active in several industry and technical organizations such as TEC Group, Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA), Polyurethane Manufactures Association (PMA), Society of Mechanical Engineers (SME) and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Bob passed away on January 27, 2008, at the age of 69. He is survived by Beverly, his wife of 45 years, their three children and five grandchildren.

Robert W. ?Bob? Gamache, 68, Lyons Township, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, at Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn.

He was born Oct. 22, 1939, in Exeter, N.H., the son of the late William and Odena (Gilbert) Gamache. He was a graduate of Bishop Bradley High School in Manchester, N.H. in 1957 and then from New Hampshire Technical Institute with a bachelor?s degree in engineering. He had served with the U.S. Air Force prior to the Vietnam era.

On June 15, 1963, in Bristol, N.H., he married the former Beverly Bryson. He had been employed at Albert Trostel Packings for many years retiring as the president of the corporation. He was a member of the Lyons American Legion Post, a member of the Rubber Manufacturers Association, a member of the Executive Committee of Wisconsin TEC group 25 and a member of Wings Over Wisconsin.

Bob is survived by Beverly, his wife of 44 years; three children, Charles (Brenda) Gamache, Lake Geneva, Stephen (Mary) Gamache, Richmond, Va., and Catherine (Nicholas) Parisi, Twin Lakes; four grandchildren, Benjamin Gamache, Katelyn Gamache, Ella Parisi and Sophia Parisi; and a step-granddaughter, Jessica Clapper.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Mass of Christian burial 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Father Terry Huebner officiating. Burial will follow in Hudson Cemetery in Lyons Township. Visitation Wednesday, Jan. 30, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Haase-Derrick-Lockwood Funeral Home, 800 Park Drive, Lake Geneva. Memorials may be made to the Lakeland Animal Shelter.
