- Mary E. Duffy Obituary
Mary E. Duffy passed away at Our House Memory Care in Eau Claire on December 21, 2023. Her battle with Alzheimer?s is over. She was 88.
She was born on October 9, 1935, to Beth and Harry Super. Mary married Francis Duffy on May 10, 1952.
Together they had five children. They later divorced but remained lifelong friends. Mary worked at the Eau Claire Press-Leader Telegram from 1972 until she retired in 1999. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Some of the great grandchildren called her ?Great Mary?.
She is survived by her children Deborah (Richard) Johnson, Colleen (Donald) Kirschner, Larry (Jodi) Duffy, her daughter in laws Peggy and Juanita Duffy, her sister Dixie (Thomas) Grace, her brother Guy (Diana) Super, grandchildren Andrew Johnson, Michael Johnson, Brandon Kirschner, Dustin Duffy, Nicole Duffy, John Koplin, Ryan Osterrude, Adam Duffy, David Duffy, Noah Duffy, Danielle Duffy, Ciara Duffy, Kabir Sirin, Michael Cox, eighteen great-children, and companion Everett Fox.
She was preceded in death by her sons Daniel Duffy and Terrance (Joe) Duffy, her parents, her sister Betty Geigle, brothers Tommy Super and Brian Super and her ex-husband Francis Duffy.
The family would like to thank Our House Memory Care for the care and compassion they showed mom while she was a resident there. The family would also like to thank St Croix Hospice Nurse Cassie and the rest of the hospice team for the excellent care given Mom at the end of her life journey.
Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024, at the VFW Post 305, 1300 Starr Avenue, Eau Claire, WI, from 1 PM - 6 PM.
Private family interment at Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire will be on Monday, May 13, 2024.
