David E. Gamache, Sr., age 79, passed away on February 11, 2026. Born in St. Louis, Missouri and living most of his life in Charlottesville, VA. David was a proud US Army veteran and continued to serve his community through his evolvement with the Boy Scouts of America, Knights of Columbus and their ?Coats for Kids? project, as a Voter Election Official for nearly 30 years, as well as the owner of the Central Virginia Insurance Agency for 48 years.
One of eleven children, David cherished the closeness of his large family and carried that love into his own role as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife Jackie of 58 years, and his three children David, Jr., Claudette, and Jason, nine grandchildren and two (soon to be three) great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life memorial mass will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, 11:00am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 401 Alderman Rd., Charlottesville where David has been a member for over 20 years.
In liew of flowers, donations may be made in memory of David to the Knights of Columbus ?Coats for Kids? project at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
