Deceased Name: Obituary Lisette Becker of Natick, 37
Lisette Smith (Gamache) Becker of Natick, a former speech pathologist, died Jan. 31 at her home after a three-year battle with breast cancer. She was 37.
Born in Montclair, N.J., she was raised in Fairfield, Conn. and Stockholm, Sweden. Mrs. Becker was a graduate of the International School of Stockholm and Lauralton Hall in Milford, Conn. She was a 1987 graduate of the University of Connecticut and received a master's degree in speech pathology at Boston University in 1989, graduating first in her class. Mrs. Becker resided in West Palm Beach, Fla., before moving to Natick two years ago.
She worked as a speech pathologist at Pinecrest Hospital in Delray Beach, Fla.
Mrs. Becker was a member of the American Speech Hearing Association, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She was a volunteer at the Bennett-Hemenway School and the Special Olympics in Connecticut. She also participated in the 24-hour relay to fight cancer.
Mrs. Becker is survived by her husband, Steven H.; two sons, Benjamin M. and Alston R., both of Newton; her parents, R. Donald and Kathleen (Smith) Gamache of Enfield, N.H.;a sister, Nanette G. Campbell of Rutland, Vt.; three nieces and two nephews.
A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. today in the First Congregational Church of Natick, Natick.
Burial will be private.
