BOSTON -- Jacqueline Rose Jackie (Gadbois) Downey, age 68, of Fairhaven, died Thursday, October 12, 2006, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston unexpectedly. She was the former wife of Edward Joseph Downey, Jr. Born in Fairhaven, a daughter of the late Antonio Lewis Gadbois and the late Rose Emma (Gamache) Gadbois, she had been a lifelong resident of Fairhaven. Jackie worked for many years as a waitress at the Cathay Temple in Mattapoisett and the former Skipper Motor Inn in Fairhaven. She enjoyed traveling and loved spending time with her family whom she adored and loved deeply. Survivors include one son, Steven Edward Downey of Fairhaven; four daughters, Sharon Lee Downey of Belleview, FL, Jo-Ann Downey of West Palm Beach, FL, Diane Marie Alves of Fairhaven and Carole Ann Messier of Fairhaven; one brother, Gerald Gadbois of San Jose, CA; ten Grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sarah, Bradford, Jamie, Danny, Justin, Justine, Ashley, Cory and Zachary; five great-grandchildren, Autumn, Reed, Kaila, Jocelyn and Jensen; and many nieces and nephews. Jackie was the mother of the late James Reed Downey. Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at 11:00 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven. Relatives and friends invited.
