Gail R. Gamache, 78, of South Hadley, passed away January 3, 2017. Born March 10, 1938, she graduated from HHS, HCC, MHC and ultimately earned a doctorate in Sociology from UMASS, where she was a researcher, adjunct professor, and co-authored two books. She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Hugh Gamache, and four children, Gail Fisher-Pepin of CA, Tim Gamache of Ludlow, Cathy Regish of South Hadley, and Missy Gamache of Holyoke. She was pre-deceased by a son, Hugh Gamache Jr., and a daughter, Carol Gamache-Taylor. She is also survived by a sister, Betty Murphy of CA, her 8 adored grandchildren and one great grandchild. Her greatest pleasures in life were her family, books, and collecting dishes from tag sales and antique stores. She will be forever missed. The funeral will be held Tuesday, January 10th at 8:45 from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Theresa?s Church, South Hadley at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Saint Jerome Cemetery, Holyoke.
