Jerome A. LaRoche

Jerome A. LaRoche, 83, of 8 First Ave., a native and longtime resident of Adams, died Wednesday evening at Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington, Vt.
Born in Adams on Dec. 9, 1920, son of Delphis and Anna Gamache LaRoche, he attended the former Notre Dame Elementary School in Adams.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He was employed as a machinist at General Electric Co. in Pittsfield for 35 years, retiring 20 years ago. He worked as a school bus driver for E. W. DeGere Transportation in the Adams-Cheshire Regional School District until 1995.
He also had worked for many years as an emergency medical technician for the Adams Ambulance Service.
Mr. LaRoche was a communicant of the Parish of Notre Dame and St. Thomas Aquinas, Adams, where he served for many years as a Eucharistic minister.
He was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of Adams Post 160 American Legion and the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs. An avid golfer, he was a member of Forest Park Country Club in Adams.
He and his wife of 62 years, the former Betty C. Kenney, were married Feb. 14, 1942.
Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Bernard LaRoche of Bennington, Vt.; Joseph LaRoche of Bristol, Conn., and Mark LaRoche of Hudson, Quebec; three daughters, Jean Guerin of Dalton, Nancy Kramer of Alta Loma, Calif., and Therese Slater of Cheshire; two brothers, Leo LaRoche of Pittsfield and Clyde LaRoche of Cheshire, 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Adams, by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Parishes of Notre Dame & St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Stanislaus Kostka.
Burial will be at a later date in Bellevue Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Parish of Notre Dame & St. Thomas Aquinas through the AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, MA 01220, which is in charge of arrangements.
He was predeceased by 10 brothers, Bernard, Maurice, George A., Vincent, George J., Ralph, Donald, Delphis, Laurin and Clement LaRoche, and a sister, Constance LaRoche. He leaves many nieces , nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
