Alfred ?Fred? J. Gamache, Jr., 79, of Enfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 5, 2016 at Baystate Medical Ctr., Springfield, MA. Fred was born in the Thompsonville section of Enfield, CT on January 18 1937, son of the late Alfred J. Sr. and Florida (Cote) Gamache.
He is survived by his sister Rita Mae Neal; nieces Carolyn M. Berthiaume (Richard), ?Little? Theresa A. Swanick (Michael) both of MA; nephews Robert A. Neal (Terri), Richard F. Neal (Laurie), Randy L. Neal and fiancée Kelly Grandis; and many great-nieces & nephews, cousins and God children. He was predeceased by his sister Theresa A. Plourde on March 21, 2016.
Fred was known for his off-beat sense of humor and infectious laugh. He loved his hobbies, especially music and was an avid Red Sox fan. He had many friends from his jobs at W.T. Grant, Steigers and St. Adalbert School, where he was beloved by the students and staff.
His family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday April 9, 2016 from 10:00 to 11:30 am at St. Adalbert Church followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Fred?s life. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Patrick?s King St. Cemetery, Enfield. In lieu of flowers or donations the family has request that you perform an act of kindness for someone in need.
