HOLYOKE - Robert A. Gamache, 69, of Holyoke, died Jan. 1 at home. Born July 7, 1932 in N. Adams and educated there, he was a spray painter for Mengel's Auto Body Shop on Maple St. in Holyoke, where he worked for 30 years, retiring in 1991. He was also employed for the last several years until his illness for the Western Mass. Elder Care of Holyoke, delivering meals on wheels. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Army. He is survived by his wife, the former Carole McDonald; three daughters, Melissa M. Gamache-Homon of Chicopee, Jennifer Gamache-Dubilo of Chicopee and Rebecca Gamache of Holyoke; three brothers, Eugene of Benington, VT, Kenneth of N. Adams and Carl of Lafayette, LA; and two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Friday morning from the Dillon Funeral Home, 124 Chestnut St., Holyoke, at 7:45 a.m. with a committal service and burial at the Mass. Veterans Cemetery, Agawam at 9 a.m. A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church, Holyoke, at 10 a.m. after the committal service. Visiting hours will be Thursday evening from 5-8 p.m.
