Emelda Gamache

Emelda M. (Gagne) Gamache 87, died Sunday at the Holiday in Lincoln. She was the wife of the late Eugene J. Gamache Sr. Mrs. Gamache was born in Albion a daughter of the late Adelard and Leonide (Desgrands) Gagne and was a lifelong resident. She was employed by the former French Worsted Co. for many years until they closed. Mrs. Gamache was a country songwriter / singer and performed at Indian Ranch. She was also a musician and played several instruments.
She is survived by her sons, Eugene "Joe" Gamache Jr. of Cumberland, and Daniel B. Gamache of Woonsocket; two brothers, Nazaire Gagne of North Smithfield, and Adrien Gagne of Albion; a sister Rose Helene Jutras of Pawtucket; seven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was also the mother of the late David A. Gamache Sr. and the sister of the late Joseph, Leonidas "Mike", Theodore Gamache and Cecile Allard.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:30 from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket, RI with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Ambrose Church, School St. Albion. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery
