Myrna M. (Barrow) Tiffany
Loving wife, mother, and grandmother
LOWELL -- Myrna M. (Barrow) Tiffany, of Belvidere, died September 3, 2013, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, after a courageous battle with cancer, aged 73 years.
She was the beloved wife of John C. "Jack" Tiffany, with whom she celebrated 53 years of marriage.
Born in Waltham, April 24, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Marguerite (Burns) Barrow. She received her early education in the Lowell school system, and graduated from Lowell High School with the Class of 1959, where she was a Girl Officer.
Little did "Myrn" know that a blind date to the movies back in 1957 would lead to a lifelong legacy of enduring love. She married Jack on May 10, 1960. The couple lived in Lowell for a time before settling in Dracut to raise their growing family.
Mrs. Tiffany enjoyed a successful career in banking at Comfed Saving Bank in Chelmsford, where she began as a teller in 1977. She advanced quickly over the years, eventually being promoted to Bank Manager. She retired in 1997 after 20 years of dedicated service.
Myrna was a member of the Long Meadow Golf Club where she enjoyed a good game of 45's and leisurely rounds of golf with Jack. A talented gardener, she loved tending to her beautiful flower beds, and was a longtime member of the Lowell Garden Club. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
Myrna stayed connected with her many dear friends by serving on the Class Reunion Committee of the Lowell High School Alumni Association, helping to plan many memorable events.
She was a devoted, active member of Christ Church United in Dracut.
"Loving and kind in all her ways", Myrna was a devoted wife and mother, and most of all, a proud grandmother, who will always be remembered for her joie de vivre, and a smile that could light up any room.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Kim M. Gamache of Maine, and a son, John Tiffany of North Carolina; three cherished grandchildren, Tiffany Gamache, Matthew Gamache, and Lindsay Brocher and her husband, Travis, and a great-granddaughter, Maleigh Brocher; a sister, Linda Dennis of East Harwich; and a brother, William Barrow and his wife, Michelle of Andover; also by several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Barbara (Barrow) Morra.
