  [S5] Obituary. Sunday Republican (Springfield, MA) - Sunday, April 9, 1995 Deceased Name: Thomas J. Gamache Thomas J. Gamache, 38, of Woodland Hgts. died Friday in University of Massachusetts Medical Center after a long illness. Born in Springfield, he lived there many years before moving to Wales three years ago. He served with the Navy on the USS Lexington CVT 16. He attended St. Joseph's School and Springfield Technical Community College, both in Springfield. He graduated from LaSalette Seminary in Enfield, N.H. He was a communicant of St. Christopher's Church in Brimfield and attended St. Monica's Mission Church in Wales. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Home City Council 63 in Springfield and received its Knight of the Year Award in 1986. He became a Fourth Degree member in the Archbishop Williams Assembly in Worcester in 1982. He was a member of Hospitalized Veterans Writing Project in Mission, Kan., and was published in New Voices in American Poetry in 1980. Many of his poems were published in Springfield Journal's Poets Page. He was a member of the Trade Winds Club in Southbridge and wrote poetry for its newsletter. He leaves his parents, Jean Paul and Theresa (Russo) Gamache, with whom he lived; a brother, Michael, and sister, Pauline Lachance, both of the area; and his paternal grandmother, Juliet Gamache of Springfield. The funeral will be Tuesday at Beers & Story Funeral Home and in the church, with burial in St. Thomas Cemetery in Palmer. Calling hours are Monday evening.
