CHAMPLAIN - James D. Gamache, 76, of Moore Street, Champlain, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, at CVPH Medical Center. He was born August 7, 1938, in Champlain, the son of the late Norman and Ann (Chenevert) Gamache.
Jim was a life resident of the area and attended local schools. He was a devout Roman Catholic and was a long time parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Champlain. He was employed with Luck Bros. Construction in Plattsburgh for many years.
Jim was a lover of animals. He enjoyed going to St. Anne's Shrine to picnic, gardening around his home, and getting together with family for functions and holidays. One of his favorite past times was having morning coffee around town with his friends.
His loving family includes his sister, Joan Hughes of Plattsburgh; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his two brothers, Ron and Norman Gamache.
There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at St. Mary's Church, 86 Church Street, Champlain, NY. Interment will be at a later date.
