Diane M. Gamache, 73, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Ellis Hospital. Diane was the daughter of the late Fred and Virginia Simone and a lifelong area resident, graduating from Schalmont High School. She married her late husband, Arthur "Phil" Gamache on August 26, 1961. Diane worked for Schenectady Jewish Community Center as a secretary/bookkeper, then went on to work for the NYS Department of Transportation as a secretary, retiring after 25 years. Following retirement, she worked at St. Clare's Hospital in Schenectady as a medical records secretary and was currently working as a secretary for CDPHP in Albany. Diane enjoyed spending time with her family, and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and activities with them. She loved Elvis Presley and especially loved Mickey Mouse, which was what brought her to frequent Disney World in Florida. Diane also enjoyed her time spent on Sacandaga Lake with her family. She was a Cub Scout Den leader and Girl Scout leader for many years, and was a member of St. Josephs Church in Scotia. Diane was predeceased by her husband, Arthur "Phil" Gamache in 2012. Survivors include their daughter, Barbara Potter (Richard) of Rotterdam; sons, Philip M. Gamache of Scotia and Michael Gamache (Colleen) of Clifton Park; cherished grandchildren, Amanda, Ashlene and Richard Potter Jr., Ryan and Kevin Gamache and Carter and Cole Gamache. Also surviving is her brother, Frederick Simone (Donna); sisters, Nadine Simone and Joanne McNulty. Her sister-in-law, Dorothy Rossetti (Daniel); and brother-in-law, Robert Gamache (Judy). Many nieces and nephews also survive. Calling hours for Diane will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 8 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., Glenville. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 231 Second Street, Scotia. Interment will be at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
