Died:
- Mr. Frederick E. Fortune, age 75, died Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Fletcher Allen Health Care, after a brief illness.
He was born in Alburgh, April 3, 1937, son of the late Peter and Elva (Bohannon) Fortune.
He married Jeanette Gamache in October of 1967. Mrs. Fortune died January 31, 2008.
Fred was a chef at the Vermont State Hospital, and owned and operated a dairy farm for many years. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Fred is survived by his step-son Armand Lajoie and his wife Anne Marie of Swanton, two grandsons Ryan and Evan Lajoie, a brother James Maskell of Glens Falls, NY, and a sister Mildred Stevenson of Canada.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Jeanette, brothers Wyman and Carl Maskell, and his sister Eunice Cross.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 15, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the Brady & Levesque Funeral Chapel. Friends may call at the funeral home, 86 South Main St., from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
