Gene A. Gamache, 53, of Willimantic, passed away peacefully on Wednesday Oct., 8, 2003 surrounded by his loving family at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Willimantic the son of Serene (Desautels) Gamache and the late Welly Gamache. Gene had been employed by Electric Boat for 8 years as a painter. He left to start his own business, A. Gamache Contracting, which he operated for the past 21 years. In addition to his mother Serene, he is survived by his 3 children and 6 grandchildren; Jason and Ann-Marie Gamache and their 3 children Justin, Joshua and Jadyn, Corey and Shannon Gamache and their daughter Julia and Jessica and Keith Lemire and their 2 children Sadie Rose and Kyle. He is also survived by 2 sisters and a brother; Blanche and Edward Pracukowski, Doris and Ronald Neff and Aime and Susan Gamache and several nieces and nephews. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Friday from 6:00 to 9:00pm. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Saturday at 9:15am prior to his 10:00am Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, Valley St. Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
