Deceased Name: RAOUL L. GAMACHE, 84
WORCESTER - Raoul L. Gamache, 84, of 61 Frank St., a heat-treater for 33 years, died Saturday in the University of Massachusetts Hospital from injuries suffered Friday in a two-car collision at Belmont and Frank streets.
He leaves his wife of 62 years, Theresa A. (Laske) Gamache; a son, George F. Gamache of San Angelo, Texas; two daughters, Joan M. Desautels of Worcester and Barbara Hamrin of Falmouth; a sister, Gertrude Kelly of New London, Conn.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was born in Fall River, son of Ovila and Cora (Desrochers) Gamache, and lived here most of his life. He graduated from Worcester Boys' Trade High School.
Mr. Gamache was a heat-treater at the American Steel & Wire Division, U.S. Steel Corp., for 33 years. He retired in 1969. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary's Church and District 14, United Steel Workers of America, AFL-CIO. He was a former member of Singletary Rod & Gun Club in Oxford.
The funeral will be held tomorrow from Mercadante Funeral Home, 370 Plantation St., with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Margaret Mary's Church, 75 Alvarado Ave. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at the funeral home. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
