Bayly, Marilyn
WATERFORD - Marilyn Bayly, 93, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She is once again back in the loving arms of her beloved mother.
Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Beatrice Hebert Desautels. She was a 1948 graduate of C.C.H.S. and worked for 37 years at the Grand Union Maintenance Office until retiring in 1992. She loved doing puzzles, crocheting and collecting miniature lighthouses. In her younger years, she enjoyed skating, swimming and bowling.
A loving and proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Marilyn was truly the matriarch of her family. She is survived by her beloved daughters, Michele Kramek and Beatrice Gamache (John Serfilippi) all of Waterford; by her adored grandchildren, Thomas Gamache (Katie), Taylor Gamache (Keegan), and Tanner Gamache; as well as her beloved great-grandsons, Thomas Arthur and Roman Mark. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Wally Kramek, several nieces and nephews, and members of her extended Kramek and Serfilippi families. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Thomas M. Bayly; by her brother, Daniel Desautels; by her longtime companion, Chickie Grestini; and by her son-in-law, Mark "Mickey" Gamache.
A special thank you to the circle of family and friends who kept her in their prayers, called and visited to keep her company.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. in the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., Waterford. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford. Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-6 p.m.
