NEWPORT - Lawrence A. Gamache Jr., 64, died Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Cape Fear Valley Hospital in Fayetteville.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, and had worked at Winstead's Restaurant in Havelock for many years.
He is survived by his wife Oma Faye Gamache; son, Lawrence "Larry" A. Gamache III of Troy, N.Y.; stepsons, James Edward Herring of Newport and Guy Eric Herring of Nashville, Tenn.; stepdaughter, Keren K. Condon of Newport; brother, Marty Gamache of Orlando, Fla.; sisters, Dorothy Safford of Arizona, Barbara Gill, Linda Pasinella and Lorrain Cancilla, all of Troy, N.Y.; and six grandchildren.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, at Pollock-Best Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday between 6 and 8 p.m.
