Frances R. Hotaling, 77, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012 after her courageous battle with cancer with her loving family by her side. Born in Rensselaer on July 25, 1935, she was the daughter of McClellan and Frances (Booty) Dyer, and was pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 53 years, Harold (Jim) Hotaling, residing at Nassau Lake for 50 years. Frances was a devoted church parishioner and member of the choir at St Mary's Church in Nassau. She also loved traveling to Hawaii and Las Vegas with a passion for casinos. "Frannie" was well known and loved as a waitress for Kay's Pizza for more than 35 years. Frances is the devoted mother of Jeff (Susan) Hotaling of Castleton, Jim (Tina) Hotaling of Willsboro, Stacey (Daniel) Wojciechowski of Cobleskill and Mari-jo (Robert) Hotaling-Gamache of Cohoes. She is cherished "Nana" of Jeff Hotaling Jr., Beth (Timothy) O'Brien, Tom Sampson, Kristen Hotaling, John Sheldon Jr., David Sheldon and Gwenevere Gamache. Frances is the adoring great-grandmother of Angelina and Juliauna Sampson and Timothy O'Brien III. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Frances was predeceased by her brothers, William and Everett Dyer, and her sisters, Beulah Moshier, Adria Praga and Pearl Kelly. Frances had made the selfless decision to donate her body for research to Albany Medical College. The family would like to extend thanks to the nursing staff and hospice at Albany Memorial Hospital. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church in Nassau, Friday, December 7, 2012 at 4:45 p.m. There will be no calling hours.
