Deceased Name: Narragansett ALICE L. GAMACHE
ALICE L. GAMACHE, 87, of Wandsworth Street W., a teacher at the former Crawford Allen Hospital in East Greenwich before retiring, died yesterday at home. She was the widow of Fred L. Gamache Jr.
Born in North Kingstown, a daughter of the late John M. and Rose (McCall) Dillon, she lived in Narragansett since 1931.
Mrs. Gamache was a graduate of the former Rhode Island Normal School, now Rhode Island College. She and her husband were associated with the Point Judith Box Co. from 1957 until 1978. She was a communicant of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, and a member of its Ladies Guild. She had been a member of the Narragansett PTA, and had served on the Girl Scout Council in Narragansett.
She leaves a son, Fred L. Gamache III of Goffstown, N.H.; two daughters, Rose Ann Gamache, with whom she made her home, and Mary Alice Manchester of Narragansett; 10 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Anne Dillon, and Madeleine V. Champlin.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from Forbes Funeral Home, 28 Columbia St., Wakefield, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Route 108, Point Judith. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in North Kingstown.
