Obituary for Mrs. Irene M. Gamache
LEWISTON - Irene M. Gamache, 91, of Sabattus passed away peacefully Friday December 22nd at St. Mary?s d?Youville Pavilion following a short illness with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Sangerville on February 27, 1926 the daughter of the late Frank and Eva (Gagnon) Michaud. She was educated in Presque Isle and Lisbon School systems. She married the love of her life Reuben C. Gamache on October 5, 1946. They had been married 70 years until her husband passed away in January 2017.
Irene worked in the woolen mill industry, and later for many years as head waitress at the Chic-A-Dee Restaurant on Route 4 in Auburn.
Irene was loved by all who knew her, and her family was her life. Irene enjoyed travelling, shopping, camping, fishing, boating, and spending time with her family. She was an animal lover and an avid animal advocate. She loved her pets dearly.
Survivors include three sons, Jerry and wife Jeannie of Florida, Ron and wife Rose of Auburn, and Skip of Otisfield; one daughter Karen Girard and husband Ray of Sabattus, one sister Abbie Maheux of Lewiston. Also surviving are five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Reuben, an infant son, Ronald, one brother Larry, and one sister Yvonne.

GAMACHE died in Lewiston Friday December 22nd, Mrs. Irene M. Gamache age 91 years a resident of Sabattus.
A Memorial Mass honoring Irene?s life will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Sabattus, Monday January 8th at 11:00AM. Burial will be held later in the Spring
