Nancy Ann Caballero, age 76 of Springfield, MA passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 25, 2024. Born on September 4,1947, Nancy was blessed with her many roles as a loving wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and even Fur Mom. Nancy was preceded in death by her Husband, Angel Caballero; her Mom Virginia Gilbert; her Father Emery Gilbert; her Sisters Diane Seymour and Beverly Gilbert Spille, and her brother Michael Gilbert. After graduating from Mercy's Nursing Program, Nancy spent her life as a dedicated RN for 53 years, retiring from her position in 2022 from Winggate Nursing Home on Bicentennial Highway in Springfield. She was feisty and stubborn to the end, but loved her family more than words could ever describe. She would do everything she could for the people closest to her. She loved watching her Documentaries from Lt. Joe Kenda on Homicide Hunter and watching her many crime and detective shows. She also enjoyed reading Alex Cross series by James Patterson. Every holiday wasn't complete without a box of Chocolate-Covered Cherries, her favorite treat to eat. Nancy leaves behind her son James Gamache, her many Grandchildren and spouses; Kyle Gamache and Haley Gamache, Alex Gamache and Casey Gamache, Ciara Herlihy and Alan Herlihy, Jo Gamache and Jason Fish, James Gamache Jr. and Lizzie Gamache; and her Great-Grandchildren; Khaleesi, Abel, Isabeau, Levi, Jaxson and Jaiden. Nancy will be having a later burial at St. Michael Cemetery in Springfield, MA. Flowers are not required but always appreciated. Colonial Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, Agawam has been entrusted with arrangements.
