Hartford Courant, The (CT) - Tuesday, August 31, 1999 Deceased Name: MARTIN, ALTHEA MARTIN, Althea Althea Martin, 93, of West Main St., Vernon, died Saturday (August 28, 1999) at her home. She was the widow of Elmer L. Martin. Born in Leominster, MA, daughter of the late Frank and Emma Gamache, she had lived in Malden and Revere before coming to Vernon 26 years ago. Mrs. Martin was a registered nurse and had worked for Malden Hospital for a number of years. She was a member of the Wesleyan Church. She leaves her son, Robert Martin of Tolland; her daughter, Joan E. Martin of Kansas City, MO; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 7 p.m. in the Wesleyan Church, 77 Cider Mill Road, Ellington. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody, MA. There are no calling hours. Ladd-Turkington Funeral Homes, Vernon, has care of the arrangements.
