Obituary of Clara (LaFond) Gamache in February 28, 1963 Tomahawk Leader (Tomahawk, Lincoln County, WI)
Early Resident, Mrs. Clara Gamache, Dies Saturday
Mrs. Clara Gamache, 84, one of Tomahawk's earliest residents, died Saturday afternoon at Pine Crest, Merrill.
Mrs. Gamache came to Tomahawk about 1888. She was born Sept. 29, 1878 in Canada to the late Mr. and Mrs. Alex LaFond. The family came to the United States in 1879, settling in Michigan. She was married to Napoleon Gamache in 1893 in Tomahawk. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Robarge, Tomahawk, and Mrs. Alda Gall and Mrs. Petronella Brekke, Racine; two sons, Walter Gamache, Everett, Wash., and Albert Gamache, Eugene, Ore.; and 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, three sons and two grandchildren.
A funeral mass was offered Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's church by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. William Smits, with burial in Calvary cemetery. The rosary was recited Monday evening in Nick and Sons funeral home.

Final Rites Held for Mrs. Gamache
A requiem high mass for Mrs. Clara Gamache, 84, who died Feb. 23 in Pine Crest, Merrill, was offered in St. Mary's Catholic church last Tuesday by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. William Smits.
Casketbearers were Henry Linn, Ed Ruel, Henry Dubois, Paul Bebeau, Leo Bogie and Bert Bishop.
Burial was in Calvary cemetery, where the Rev. Robert Riedmueller conducted rites. Nick and Sons funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
Attending from out of the city were Mrs. Margaret Robarge, Wauwatosa; Mrs. and Mrs. Henry Gall, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Brekke, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Gall and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Londre and Floyd Brekke, Racine.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Whitehead, Coal City, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Kraimer, Birchwood, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ewald, Grays Lake, Ill.; and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Cornell and Mrs. Tracy Schroeder, Milwaukee.
