- [S5] Obituary.
Louis Maurice Gamache, age 85, of Gainesville, Florida. A kind, honest, loving man with a great big voice who loved his faith, his family and his projects. He was an "I can fix it" kind of guy. There just isn't a home project or lawn mower he wouldn't fix for his family, neighbors and friends. He enjoyed snow skiing, golf and a Sunday afternoon barbeque.
Louis was the second of six children, born on April 5, 1926, of the late Louis Philippe Gamache and Rose Delima Montplaisir of Somerset, Massachusetts.
He graduated from Prevost High School, Fall River, MA in 1943, enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy until 1946 . From 1946 he worked proudly, for four years, at Montaup Electric Company, Somerset, Massachusetts. He graduated as a mechanical engineer from The University of Rhode Island in 1954, married his longtime girlfriend Theresa (Teri) LeComte in June 1954 and began his career at General Electric, Schenectady, NY. He worked for GE 37 years.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Teri, four daughters and their husbands: Louanne and Larry Moresco of Boise, ID, Claire and Mark Bronstein of Boulder, CO, Amy and Creig Wilson of Gainesville, FL and Jeanne and Paul Walker of Nashua, NH, one brother Arthur Gamache and his wife Jeanne of Tewksbury, MA, and his sister, Sister Cecile Gamache of Nashua, NH and eight grandchildren: Ben and Paul Moresco, Lauren and Selena Bronstein, Crey and Ellie Wilson, Connor and Jacob Walker.
