GAMACHE, Arthur J.R., P.D. Arthur Joseph Rene Gamache, 75, of Willimantic, died Thursday, (December 16, 2004) at Windham Hospital, in Willimantic. He was born on May 16, 1929, in Willimantic, the son of the late Joseph and Hermine (Senechal) Gamache. He married Carmen Rita Boucher on December 26, 1964, in Santa Monica, CA. He was a graduate of St. Mary's School and Windham High School, both in Willimantic. He then attended the University of Connecticut where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Mr. Gamache was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having proudly served as an OSI Special Agent in the United States Air Force. Following his honorable discharge from the service, June 7, 1956, he attended the University of Connecticut where he earned his second Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Pharmacy in 1961. He managed J.J. Hickey Pharmacy until 1967 at which time he purchased it. He was sole proprietor until 1995. He was a two term past president of the French Club and a lifetime member. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Elks Club, Sampson Air Force Base Veteran's Association and Korean War Veterans Association. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Dr. Paul Gamache and wife Dr. Lisa Gamache of Lenox, MA, Daniel Gamache of Willimantic, Eric Gamache of Willimantic, and Dr. Marc Gamache and wife Jennifer Gamache of Richmond, VA; his three grandchildren, Courtney, Megan and Lauren Gamache of Lenox, MA; his sisters, Norma Berek and husband Hilton of Waterford and Loretta Hill and husband Dr. William Hill of Columbia, SC; his brother, Maurice Gamache and wife Anita of Lebanon; brothers-in-law, Dr. Marcel Boucher and wife Pierette of Lac St. Jean, Quebec, Guy Boucher and wife Janice of Quebec; sisters-in-law, Rita Boucher of Ottawa, Gisele Boucher of Quebec City, Huguette Moisan and husband Raymond of Quebec City, Fernande Ouellette of Mansfield; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 20, 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 80 Maple Avenue, Willimantic. Calling hours will be held Sunday, December 19, 3-6 p.m. and Monday, December 20, 9-9:30 a.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect Street, Willimantic.
