- [S5] Obituary.
Maurice A. Glaude, 89, of Manchester, NH, left this world on June 1, 2021, to be reunited with his sweetheart of sixty-six years, Louise (Gamache) who died April 26, 2021, along with his son, Roger who died in 1988.
Born in Manchester, NH on September 5, 1931, he was the son of Joseph and Delia (Thibodeau) Glaude. He resided in the Queen City all his life.
During the Korean War, he served with the United States Army.
Until his retirement in 1993, Maurice was employed with St. Johnsbury Trucking Company for more than forty years.
Maurice was an avid reader. Upon entering his home, you would find shelves upon shelves of books, with one tall stack next to his recliner of his current reads. He also loved to sing, often first in English followed by an encore in French. He was immensely proud of his French heritage.
Despite his tall, broad demeanor and booming voice, he was a big teddy bear. One of his favorite things to do was to rock babies in his arms. Through the years he earned the nickname, "The Baby Whisperer."
Maurice was a loving and devoted husband, father, and pepere. His grandchildren brought him endless pride and joy.
Family members include a daughter, Denise O'Hara and her husband, Michael, of Bennington; a son, Maurice Glaude and his wife, Carrie of Francestown; five grandchildren, Ashley, Jordan, Harrison, Baxter, and Phoebe.
