  [S5] Obituary. Carmen Gamache Brady FARMINGTON - Farmington, New Hampshire resident Carmen Gamache Brady, 89, died August 9, 2014. Carmen passed surrounded by family following a brief illness. Ms. Brady was born September 3, 1924, in Manchester, to Alcide and Athala Gamache. As a nurse, Carmen served with the Army Nursing Corps during WWII. It was during this time that she met her late husband Benjamin Brady of Fayetteville, N.C. Following her time with the Army Nursing Corps, Carmen provided mid-wife services in rural communities in the United States and overseas with the Peace Corp. Carmen is survived by her son Charles Brady, her son-in-law Richard Welch, her six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Beverly Welch. At her request, no service will be held. Carmen's ashes will be scattered at the trail head of the Iditarod, fulfilling her dream of seeing Alaska.
