Died:
- Joan Ann Harrison, age 90, of Crystal City, Missouri, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Stonebridge Senior Living in DeSoto, Missouri. She was born July 1, 1931, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of the late Adele E. (nee Gamache) and Paul H. Koenig.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Robert Edwin "Bob" Harrison, Sr., and a granddaughter Natalie Peppers.
She is survived by sons Robert Harrison, Jr. of Millstadt, Illinois, and Adam (Jay Kish, Jr.) Harrison of Collinsville, Illinois; daughters Mary Frances (Ronald) Peppers of St. Charles, Missouri, Susan Harrison of Festus, Missouri, and Cindy Harrison-Diaz of Crystal City; brother Paul J. (Judy) Koenig of St. Louis, Missouri; sister Mary E. Edler of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren Kyle Harrison, Brittney Peppers, Janae Harrison, and Marc Harrison, and great-grandchildren Makhi Harrison, Kamora Harrison, and Zane Harrison.
Joan was St. Elizabeth's Academy high school and Maryville University graduate and received her nursing degree from the former St. Louis City Hospital School of Nursing where she served her internship. She was a registered nurse for 50 years and retired from Jefferson Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Our Lady Church, Maryville University Alumni Association, Roe Phi Delta professional nursing sorority, Twin City Business and Professional Women, Elks #1721 Auxiliary, and was a breast cancer survivor.
Visitation 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus. Funeral Mass 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 10, 2022, at Our Lady Church in Festus, officiated by Fr. Gregory Klump. Interment in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials in Joan's memory are preferred to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research.
