  [S5] Obituary. Worcester Telegram & Gazette (MA) - Sunday, February 12, 1995 Deceased Name: ROLAND J. GAMACHE SR. ORANGE - Roland J. Gamache Sr., 66, of 9 Rogers Ave., machine operator for many years, died Friday in Athol Memorial Hospital after being stricken ill while cutting wood near his home. He leaves his wife of 47 years, Priscilla F. (Ware) Gamache; four sons, Raymond J. Gamache of Flagstaff, Ariz., Robert A. Gamache of Barre, Roland J. Gamache Jr. and Paul L. Gamache, both of Athol; a daughter, Karen M. Rouleau of Athol; a sister, Corrine Bellows of Camp Verde, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; nephews and nieces.A son, Lawrence R. Gamache, died in 1976.He was born in Orange, son of Fernand J. and Bertha (Thibault) Gamache, and lived here all his life. Mr. Gamache was a road-machine operator for the state Department of Public Works for seven years, retiring in 1990. He was previously a machine operator for many years at Union-Butterfield Division of Litton Industries and 21 years at J.F. McElwain Co., both in Athol. Mr. Gamache was a life member of the Wheelerville Community Club.He was a member of the Orange Gun Club and Athol-Orange Lodge of Elks. He was named Elk of the Year in 1991. He was an ardent hunter and woodcutter. A memorial Mass will be held next month in St. Mary's Church, 19 Congress St. Burial will be in South Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Athol-Orange Emblem Club, 212 Scholarship Fund, P.O.
