Died:
- Marian J. Johnson, Cameron, Wisconsin , died Wednesday, March 14, 2001, at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
She was born at Minot, North Dakota, to George and Mary (Johnstone) Nelson. She moved with her parents to California and grew up there. She married Larry Harlan Johnson at Glendale, California 7 Sept 1946. They lived at several places in California. They later lived at Issaquaha, Wash., Memphis, Tenn., Port Credit, Ontario, Canada, Glen Elyn, Ill., and Dallas, Texas, before moving to Cameron, Wisconsin where they lived since 1976.
They operated Johnson's Fairway Foods in Cameron until retiring in August of 1999. She was known in the area for her quilting. She rode in the Rose Parade at Pasadena, Calif., as Queen of the Forest. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at Barron, Wisconsin.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Harlan of Cameron; sons, Steven (Sharon) Johnson of Whittier, Calif., and Daryl Johnson of Salt Lake City, Utah., and David (Julie) Johnson of Rice Lake; daughters, Marla Vanzante of Ontario, Canada, Mary (Mike) Potter of Stillwater, Minn., and JoAnn Rice of Salt Lake City, Utah; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Audrey Sheldon.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 17, at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in Barron. Bishop Robert Strickland officiating with interment at Wayside Cemetery in Barron.
Friends may call for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
