Died:
- DRACUT, MA -- Gerald Thomas Foley, 82, died peacefully, Sunday, March 20th, at Northwood Rehab and Nursing Center with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 60 years to Helen B. (Marchand) Foley, his wife and best friend.
Born in Lowell, MA on March 24, 1934, Gerald was a son of the late Catherine T. (Armstrong) and George Foley. He was educated in Lowell and a graduate of Lowell High School Class of 1952. He received his Bachelors Degree from Fitchburg State College. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserves for 9 years and was a proud American.
For many years, Gerald worked as a Purchasing Manager for Raytheon and I-Tech.
In his younger years, Gerald was a talented athlete. He played semi-professional Football, was an avid golfer, and boxed for the Lowell Golden Gloves for many years. Gerald also loved dancing with his wife at various social gatherings. He was a devoted, dedicated, and faithful catholic, and a member of the Ste. Marguerite D'Youville parish.
Along with his wife Helen, Gerald is survived and will be deeply missed by his daughter, Kathleen Foley-Starr and her husband David of Pelham, NH; his brother, Robert P. Foley and his wife Margaret of Lowell, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his brother, George "Buddy" Foley.
FOLEY -- Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 9 to 10:30 a.m., on TUESDAY, March 29th at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT, with his Funeral Mass directly following at 11 a.m. in Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Church, Dracut. Burial to follow in Gibson Cemetery, Pelham, NH.
