  Died: The Malone Farmer, Wednesday, June 20th, 1928. CHASM FALLS June 18.? Seldom has our community been as shocked as it was Sunday morning at the death of Frank King (Francis Roy), one of our most highly esteemed citizens. He was born in Whippleville, Malone, March 15, 1868, and was a son of Andrew and Marguerite (LaFayette) King. His father died when the subject of this sketch was a small child leaving his mother with a large family to rear alone. The King (or Roy) family was of Canadian-French origin, and is at the present time numerous in Malone and Belmont. Most of them have lived to a good old age. The subject of this sketch has always lived in Malone Township. In 1896 he married Delphine Benoit, daughter of Alex and Odile Benoit, of Owls Head, who survives him. To them have been born four sons, Lawrence, Eugene, Maurice, William and four daughters, Eva (Mrs. Mark Johnson), Odile (Mrs. Wesley Goodman-Bonhomme), and the Misses Marguerite and Eunice King. Lawrence and Eugene are also married and reside at Herkimer. He also leaves three brothers, Alex. K., of Plattsburgh; Bernard of Champlain, and William, of Chasm Falls. Mr. King and family have in recent years resided at Riverbend, but sold their home there to the Malone Light & Power Company when preparations were being made to flood that section tor a large pond or lake. They then purchased the Eastman place at Twin Bridges in Chasm Falls. Mr. King has worked hard to improve and beautify the place. Only Saturday afternoon, just before the fatal stroke of apoplexy came, he was fixing the lawn between the house and barns. He was of the kindest of husbands and fathers. In his home affection seemed to reign supreme. He was a good citizen and neighbor. He was also loyal to his church, in which lie implicitly believed. His funeral was held from St. Helen's church Tuesday, his pastor, Rev. Father Desrosiers, conducting the services. Interment in St. Helen?s Cemetery.
