Norma R. Rush, 84, of Quincy died Tuesday Aug. 5 in Bradford Villa. Norma was born March 17, 1941, in Quincy, the 9th of 10 children born to Lloyd Bryan and Hellen Vera (Boles) Douglas. She married Paul Rush October 15, 1960, in Madison Park Christian Church. They celebrated 62 years of marriage before his passing March 17, 2023.
Norma was a 1959 graduate of Quincy High School. Norma worked for QPS in Washington School cafeteria as a cook. She later worked at QJHS cafeteria and retired from the school system after 29 years.
She is survived by her three children, Steven (Diana) Rush of Fowler, Christina (Mike Childress) Hays, and Curtis (Lori) Rush of Quincy. Grandchildren, Jared Rush, Rachel (Jack) Gamache, Darren (Freydell) Hays, Carra (Alex) Brown, Amanda Rush, Marc (Lindsey) Rush, Becca (Quinten) Frankel, and Hope (Kenton) Parsons; ten great grandchildren, Quinn, Mack & Cal Gamache, Violet Hays, Leah, Harper, and Ada Brown, Braiden & Ryker Thomas, Walker & Halle Rush, Charlie Parsons and 1 on the way in January. She is also survived by several brother & sister in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings; Bryan, Willis, Donald, Gerald, Milton, and Delbert Douglas, Betty Foley, Patsy Groce, and Virgina Hess.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2025 at noon in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the services at noon. Memorials are suggested to Madison Park Christian Church or Blessing Hospice. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
