Raymond R.G. "Ray" Lavoie Passed away in Smithfield, Rhode Island on Sunday June 12, 2016.
He was born on Monday January 28, 1952 in Ludlow, Massachusetts the son of the late Lucien A. and Clarice C. (Gamache) Lavoie.
In 1971 he made the decision to served his country in the US Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1975; He received the National Defense Service Medal and the Navy meritorious unit commendation.
After his military service he was a cross country truck driver for many years. He sustained serious injuries when his torso was crushed while on the job. He endured the lasting damage of the injuries until his passing. For the rest of his days he did many odd jobs here and there that his health would allow him.
He is survived by two sisters, several nieces and nephews, 3 sons and 1 daughter and 3 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Lucien and Clarice and 2 brothers Paul and Ernest.
The only marker is his Veterans plague name hasn't been added to the family stone as of this time.
