- Hammond, Audrey E. of Portage Audrey passed away on Saturday morning, January 10, 2015 at Bickford Cottage. She was born on August 20, 1929 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Arthur and Pearl (Smith) King. On September 26, 1953, Audrey was united in marriage to Kenneth J. Hammond and in 1955 they moved to Grand Rapids. Surviving are their three sons, Donald (Shelley) Hammond of Delton, Russell (Karen) Hammond of Houston, TX and Glenn (Michelle) Hammond of Portage and five grandchildren, Kenny (Diana), Kelley, Elyse, Alex and Nick. Preceding her in death were her husband, Kenneth Hammond and her parents. A funeral service for Audrey will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, with Chaplain Russell Payne officiating, with a luncheon to follow at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park following the luncheon. Friends may visit with the family from 4-6 PM on Tuesday (TODAY), Jan. 13, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Bickford Cottage Resident Fund.
