Died:
- Orlando R. "Lundo" Gacci, 82, of West Deer, passed away peacefully in his sleep Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, while under the compassionate care of Dr. Matthew Vasil and his staff at Heritage Hospice at Bayberry Place Assisted Living, Lower Burrell, where he had been a resident for the past seven months. He was born Sept. 19, 1931, in West Deer, to the late Remo Gacci and Sully (Guerrieri) Gacci. Lundo joins his beloved late wife of 45 years, Barbara M. "Bobbie" Gacci, who passed away June 15, 2002. He was of the Catholic faith. Orlando was a 1949 graduate of West Deer High School and has lived in West Deer most of his life. He proudly served his country in the Army and was stationed in Panama during the Korean War. After the service, he was employed by Michael's Nursery and then GMC Coach in Harwick. His wife Barbara's family owned Deer Lakes Park when it was still a pay lake and Orlando helped operate it and stock the lakes until it was made a county park. He also owned and operated Mojack Music Inc., along with his two sons, for more than 30 years. Lundo was a member of numerous clubs and associations over the years. He was an avid golfer and golfed in a league in to his late 70s, pairing at Rose Ridge Golf Course with his best friend, Charlie Tahon, was one of the highlights of his life. Prior to moving to Bayberry Place, he enjoyed playing cards Friday nights with his good buddies and trips to the Seneca Niagara Casino. His family and friends were very important to him and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Lundo and his wife, Barbara, owned a cottage along Lake Erie in Westfield, N.Y., where they spent the summers fishing, relaxing and enjoying campfires with their family and friends. Orlando had a real zest for life and a big heart, always willing to help anyone who needed it. He will be forever remembered, loved and dearly missed by his family and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Bobbie, he was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene "Geno" Trevellini; sisters, Virginia Lublensky and Mary Michael; uncle, Albert Guerrieri; and niece, Andrea Lublenski. He is survived by his loving sons and their spouses, Richard (Jodi Stiner) Gacci, of Frazer Township, and John (Leighann) Gacci, of West Deer; grandchildren, Luke Gacci, Carly Gacci and Joshua Gacci; stepgranddaughter, Courtney Stiner; and his beloved Jack Russell Terrier, Lucky; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, including special niece, Linda Trevellini, who helped care for him before he moved in to Bayberry Place; and many, many wonderful friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Matthew Vasil and his staff at Heritage Hospice and the staff at Bayberry Place for their wonderful and compassionate care of Lundo. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Township, where parting prayers will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Monday. Catholic Funeral Mass will follow in Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church, Russellton, with the Rev. James P. Holland as celebrant.
