Died:
- It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our dear mother Arlette Gravel (née Vannier), who died in Ottawa on July 13, 2017, at the age of 89. The daughter of the late Ernest Vannier and the late Anoncéade Fortier Vannier, she was predeceased by her husband Olier Gravel, her son Ronald Gravel and her grandchildren, Dean Gamache and France-Andrée Mayrand. She leaves to mourn her children: Madeleine (André Dubois), Anne-Marie (Jean-Pierre Potvin), Claude (Susan Ross), Pierre (Danielle Laurin), Maxime (Monique Chartrand), Micheline (Gilles Dupéré), Denis ( Norma O'Rielly), Lise (Gérard Meunier), Ivan, Paul (Linda Dénommé) and Alain (Carolyn Bénard). She also leaves her 35 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter whom she has all cherished and cherished, as well as her sisters Ernestine Charron, Rita Whalen and Patricia Hamilton. Our mother was a woman of exceptional kindness and generosity, having dedicated her life to the well-being of her children and her family, as well as contributing generously to a variety of social causes. Very involved in her community and in her parish, she has contributed to the creation of educational services in Témiscamingue Ontario for children with intellectual disabilities, as well as activities aimed at inspiring reading appreciation among young people. in addition to being an active member of the Federation of French-Canadian Women, Jeunesses Musicales and Parent-Teacher Associations. We sincerely thank Résidence St-Louis, especially the staff on the 4th floor, for the exceptional care provided to our mother over the last 4 years. The family will welcome family and friends to Racine Funeral Home, Robert, Gauthier, located at 180 Montreal Road, Ottawa; 613-241-3680, Tuesday, July 18, 2017 from 6 pm to 8 pm, and the commemorative celebration in the chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 11 am The family will be present from 10 am to receive the condolences.
