Died:
- Jerome L. "Metzer" Frohrib, 67, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday September 21, 1996 at his home.
He was born April 11, 1929 in Oshkosh to Norman and Caroline Scheuren Frohrib. He married Maxine M. Kelly Werner in Oshkosh on September 25, 1965.
He entered the U.S. Army in 1945 and served until 1947 transporting troops back from overseas from Japan and Europe. He was a member of the U.S. Merchant Marine Veterans of WWII.
He was employed as a color coordinator mixing paints at AP Nonwiler Paint Co.
He was a lifetime member of the Otter Street Fishing Club, a member of the Midnight Club, a great supporter of Friends of the Shelter and a Member of the Humane Society of the United States. He received his pilot license under Steve Wittman and was commissioned an officer of the Confederate Air Force in the grade of Colonel. He was a member of the EAA and Air Force Museum Foundation. Inc. Metzer enjoyed his trips, vintage and military aircraft, and his buddies at the Midnight Club.
He will be missed by his devoted wife, Maxine and his brothers and family. He is survived by his wife, Maxine and three stepchildren, Barbara (Sandy) Lewis of Navarre, Beverly Hanson of Phoenix, and Charles (Nancy) Werner of Littleton three grandchildren Kelli, Wendy, and Amy; Four brothers Vernon "Tweet" (Florence), Norman "Jupe" (Erna), George (Carol) all of Oshkosh, and Melvin "Beacon" (Vonnie) of Vallejo, CA., nieces, nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his faithful dog, Buffy.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday Sept. 24, 1996 at 7 P.M. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Eastside Rev. Dan Felton officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 P.M. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
