Carol Jean Meyer , age 86 of Oshkosh passed away Friday, September 21, 2018 at Parkview Health Center. Carol was born in Oshkosh to Karl and Regina Binder. She married Rudy Meyer on September 19, 1953. He preceded her in death On May 3, 2009.
Carol was a member of St John?s Catholic Church and served on the Ladies Society and Women?s Catholic Order of Foresters. She helped take communion to shut-ins and volunteered at St John?s. She also did tutoring at St Elizabeth Seton School and really enjoyed working with all the young boys and girls. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. She kept books for her husbands service station for 20 years and also worked at Wisconsin National Life Insurance for over 10 years before her retirement.
Surviving Carol are one daughter Mary Joan (Dennis) Berger of Oshkosh. Three sons Richard P. (Sandy) Meyer of Oshkosh, David C. (Jill) Meyer of Neenah and James P. (Margaret) Meyer of Oshkosh. Two brothers J. Earl (Shirley) Binder of Oshkosh and William P. (Marie) Binder of Oshkosh.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday September 26, at 11:00 AM in St Jude The Apostle Catholic Church (St Vincent site) with the Rev Louis Golamari officiating. burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until the hour of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
