OBITUARY
79, of Westport, Connecticut, died Friday, September 21st. Born in Pahokee, Florida on December 27, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Frances Brown Lee and the late Ray Edward Lee. She lived in Colorado for most of her adult life and spent the later years of her life in Prairie Village, Kansas and Westport, Connecticut. Mrs. O?Brien moved to Denver, Colorado in the early 1950s after graduating from Andrew Jackson High School in Jacksonville, Florida in 1950. She became a legal secretary, working for James D. Voorhees, John R. Bermingham, and Continental Oil Company, among others. Later in life, she worked as an executive secretary and office manager for the Amphenol Cadre Division of Bunker Ramo and Front Range Cable in Longmont, Colorado, and National Wire & Stamping in Englewood, Colorado before retiring in 1992. She was married to Duncan Munroe O?Brien on December 6, 1958. Together they had four sons before divorcing in 1972. Her greatest joys were her four boys and her grandchildren, and she always cherished the memories of her parents. She was creative and loved working with crafts of all kinds, and she always seemed able to touch those around her who needed it the most. She was an ardent supporter of the Denver Broncos. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and she never stopped loving the father of her children. She is survived by four sons, Duncan Munroe O?Brien, Jr. of Westport, CT, Douglas Drake O?Brien of Highlands Ranch, CO, Stewart Larkin O?Brien of Herndon, VA, and Malcolm Edward O?Brien of Lakewood, CO; three daughters-in law, Jennifer, Jodi, and Melissa; nine grandchildren, Elizabeth Crary, Duncan Munroe III, Katherine Anne, Caroline Lee, Margaret Louise, John Larkin, Chelsea Lynnae, Lauren and Ethan; and one niece, Linda Vanrell of Huntsville, AL. Her brother, Charles Jackson Lee, and sister, Dolores Lee Gamache, preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Bridgeport Rescue Mission (1088 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06605) to support its efforts to help neighbors in need. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at 2:00 pm at The Congregational Church of Green?s Farms, 71 Hillandale Road, Westport, CT. Burial will be private. Spear-Miller Funeral Home of 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield, CT is in charge of arrangements.
