Nolan Donald Duquette Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nolan Donald Duquette of Negaunee, Michigan, who passed away on January 21, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Donald Duquette and Mary Duquette (Anderson). He is survived by : his wife Nancy Duquette; his sons, Lance Duquette (Jeanne Racine) of Negaunee Township and Mark Duquette (Holly Meraki) of Negaunee; his grandchildren, Hunter, Mackenzie Johnson-Duquette (Gatlin Gunn) and Logan Duquette; his siblings, Melana Dastyck (Jim) of Montana, Barbara Duquette (Bren Balzarini) of Ishpeming, Lee Duquette (Susan) of Utah, Donald Duquette (Karen) of Ishpeming and John Duquette (Amy) of Negaunee; and also Tracey Symons (Dave). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Nolan Donald 'Lani' Duquette, 77, longtime Negaunee resident, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, January 21, 2024 at UP Health System Marquette while in the care of his loving family.
Lani was born October 14, 1946 to Donald and Mary (Anderson) Duquette and graduated from Negaunee High School, Class of 1965. He was united in marriage to Nancy Roberts on October 16, 1966 at Mitchell United Methodist Church in Negaunee. Lani was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, having served as a jet mechanic in Thailand during the Vietnam War, being medically discharged in 1973.
Following his service to his country, Lani co-owned and operated Boreal Aviation at KI Sawyer Air Force Base from where he retired. His passion was steelhead fishing the UP's rivers. He also enjoyed golfing, was an avid sportsfan, supporting the Negaunee Miners, Green Bay Packers and New York Yankees. More than anything, he cherished his family and loved spending time with them.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Duquette; sons: Lance (Jeanne Racine) Duquette of Negaunee Township and Mark (Holly Meraki) Duquette of Negaunee; three grandchildren: Hunter and Mackenzie (Gatlin Gunn) Johnson-Duquette and their mother, Tracey (Dave) Symons, and Logan Duquette; sisters: Melana (Jim) Dastyck of Montana and Barbara (Bren Balzarini) Duquette of Ishpeming; brothers: Lee (Susan) Duquette of Utah, Donald (Karen) Duquette of Ishpeming and John (Amy) Duquette of Negaunee; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Honoring Lani's wishes, private family services will be held. Interment will take place in the Negaunee Cemetery.
