  [S5] Obituary. Clara C. (Zehren) Semler 04-23-2010 Clara C. Semler (nee Zehren), 105, of Hartford, passed away Friday, April 23, 2010 at Wellington Place in Hartford. Clara was born February 24, 1905 in Neosho to Nicholas and Theresa (nee Hagen) Zehren. She was united in marriage to Emil Semler on June 25, 1931 at Holy Hill. Clara worked for the West Bend Aluminum Company and Chrysler retiring after 20 years of service. Clara and Emil lived in Hartford their entire married life. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, crocheting, knitting, and sewing. She also enjoyed fishing while vacationing in northern Wisconsin. Clara also enjoyed bowling and she bowled until the age of 88. Clara drove her car until she was 97. She spent the last years of her life at Wellington Place where she was received as part of the family there and received excellent, wonderful, compassionate, loving care. She was a member of St. Kilian Church, Hartford Senior Friends and a past member of St. Kilian's Christian Mothers. Clara is survived by her children Shirley (William) Mann of Sussex, James (Germaine) Semler of Hartford, and Richard (Sandy) Semler of Green Valley, AZ, 14 grandchildren; William, Robert (Sharon), Steven, Lori (John), Michael (LeeAnn), Julie (Tim), Cheryl (Jim), Constance (Jack), Larry (Karen), Michael (Kris), James II (Annette), Kim (Gene) Karen (Kevin) and Kris (David); 32 great-grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; her sister Frances Zurn of Hartford; her brother Herbert (Dorothy) Zehren of Hartford. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She is preceded in death by her husband Emil, her sisters Eleanor, Agnes, and Loretta, her brothers Lawrence, Alphonse; her brother-in-law Joe Zurn and her daughter-in-law Gilda Semler. Mass of Christian Burial for Clara will be held on Monday, April 26, 2010 at 7:00 pm at St. Kilian Catholic Church. 264 W. State Street, Hartford with Father David LaPlante officiating. Visitation will be Monday April 26 from 4 ? 7 pm at St. Kilian Church. Interment will take place in St. Kilian Cemetery. Memorials to St. Kilian Church, Hartford Senior Friends or the charity of one's choice are appreciated.
