McCauley, Billie Lee
Billie Lee McCauley, 75, passed away Monday December 5, 2016 in her home near Westby, WI.
She was born September 5, 1941 to Robert and Betty (Salter) Brown. On December 28, 1961, she was united in marriage to William Schmirler in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Their marriage was blessed with five children. Billie Lee's life revolved around her family and she was happiest when they were near her. She was a devout woman, a dear friend to many, and an unconditionally loving grandma. For many of her last years she would often be seen visiting with friends and neighbors after daily mass, at the restaurant enjoying her waffles with strawberries and whipped creme with her special friends, walking her little dachshund, Harry, around the neighborhood, or working out in her beautiful garden next to her little grandma house up the hill from Assumption High School in Wisconsin Rapids (her alma mater) where her grandchildren and scores of their friends stopped daily for snacks, hugs, and laughs after school. Her door was always open and she welcomed everyone.
She is survived by William Schmirler of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; their children: Valerie (Stephen) Freundl of Mosinee, WI; Victoria (Louis) Chudy of Waukesha, WI; Sam (Judy) Schmirler of Westby, WI; Ellen Dux of Denver, CO and Jane Schmirler of Waukesha, WI; grandchildren: Timothy Freundl; Olivia (Kory) Freeberg; Emily Freundl; Zachary (Margeaux) Chudy and their son, Miles; Benjamin Chudy; Noah Chudy; Lydia Chudy and her son Jack; Lucinda (Joseph) Bolton and their children: Roselyn, Anica and Isidore; Nicolette (Kenton) Gamache and their children: Skyler and Jade; brothers and sisters: Charles (Kim) Brown of Nekoosa, WI; Marcia McGrath of Rancho Cordova, CA; Sarah (John) Hay of Wisconsin Rapid, WI; Joanne (Dale) Lipke of Byron, MN; James Brown of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and one brother-in-law, Wayne Slowinski.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Carol Slowinski.
