Robert W COOK Robert Wallace Cook (88) passed away on Sat, April 21, 2012, He was born Feb, 12th, 1924 in Belle Forche, ND and moved to Washington as a small child. He lived in Sedro Woolley until after high school. He was drafted into the Army and served during WWII. He was a distinguished veteran serving his country. He was a POW and received a purple heart and bronze star during his service. After leaving the service, he got a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Washington. After working at several companies, he moved his family to Spokane, Wa and worked at Spokane Pres-to-Log, eventually buying out the other parties interest and opening Spokane Plastics, He retired and sold his business in 1987 and he and his wife, Ada built their dream home on Whidbey Island. They lived there until 2008 when they moved to Ida Culver Broadview on Greenwood. Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Ada. He is survived by 3 daughters: Janet Bontrager (Steve), Julie Fiddaman (Rodney) and Nancy Fisher(Jim). He had 4 grandchildren: April Laughlin, Scott Gamache, Charles Gamache and Claire Fisher. There were also 3 great grandchildren. His service is scheduled for Saturday April 28th at 2:00 p.m. at Ballard 1st Lutheren, 2006 NW 65th St., Seattle, WA.
