- Thelma Davis
HART ? Thelma I. Davis, 94, passed away March 9, 2010, in Amarillo.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2010, at First Baptist Church in Hart with the Rev. Matt Baird officiating.
Burial will follow in Hart Cemetery under the direction of Lemons Funeral Home.
Family and friends will be welcomed from 6-8 p.m. today at Lemons Memorial Chapel.
Thelma was born Aug. 4, 1915, to Roy and Ola Moss in Olustie, Okla. She married Ernest E. Davis, Aug. 10, 1934, in Plainview. They were married 74 years when Ernest passed away Sept. 23, 2008.
Thelma was a homemaker who loved to sew and make quilts. She loved being outdoors, whether it was fishing, carpentry or being in the garden with iris flowers. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and they would agree that she was the best cook in the county.
She is survived by one son, Larry Davis of Hart; one daughter, Freda Slade of Amarillo; one brother, Roy Olan Moss of Decatur; two sisters, Helen Gamache of Tulsa, Okla., and Leta Mae Hawkins of Hart; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest E. Davis; two brothers, Dick and Jerrell Moss; four sisters, Margret Gooch, Audrey Cobb, Jessie Scott and Dana Lou Feno.
Memorials may be made to Runningwater Draw Care Center in Olton.
