Laura A. (Dziekan) Pehoski, age 91, passed away peacefully at Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau, WI on January 10, 2016.
Laura was born in Stevens Point in 1924 to Michael and Helen (Kizewski) Dziekan. She attended St. Stanislaus Elementary School. She entered P.J. Jacobs High School in 1938, the first year it was open.
After graduation in 1942, she worked at the Hein Insurance Agency for six years as a secretary/bookkeeper.
She was married to Robert E. Pehoski on August 27, 1949 at St. Stanislaus Church, Stevens Point. The couple moved to Milwaukee where she worked at the Milwaukee Credit Bureau. They moved to Stevens Point in 1953, where she resided until earlier this year.
Laura was an active member of the St. Mary's Sodality at St. Stanislaus Church prior to her marriage. She was a long-time member of the Immaculate Conception Altar Society, Rose 3, as well as the National Catholic Society of Foresters, Court 879. Laura was involved in the Charismatic Renewal and enjoyed participating in prayer meetings, going on retreats, praying the rosary, and going to daily mass when able.
Laura enjoyed listening to the annual UW-SP Trivia Contest. The matriarch of Clos-Enuf Construction Co., LLC, she hosted the event for several years and visited the team headquarters yearly. She enjoyed following local sports coverage, especially the UW-SP Pointers. She liked attending yearly Christmas and Barbershopper's concerts; and loved family gatherings.
She is survived by four sons and three daughters: John of Waukesha; Charles (Teri Ann Howard) of Cleburne, TX; Christopher (Mary Ann Mangen) of Amherst; Peter (Michelle Somers) of Berlin, WI; Jeanne of Milwaukee; Bernadette (George) Kreager of Wausau; Margaret (Cortney) Schmidt of Ellsworth, MI. Survivors also include one sister, Verona (John) Bobrowitz, Brookfield, WI, 18 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant son, her parents, two grandsons and four sisters: Therese Dziekan, Irene (Wilfred) Stanke, Grace Maddente, and Mary (Karl) Braus.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at Immaculate Conception Church in Custer with Rev. Daniel Hackel presiding. A time of Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22nd at Boston Funeral Home with a rosary led by the Immaculate Conception Altar Society at 5:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow the Funeral Mass in St. Martins Cemetery in Ellis, WI.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that Catholic masses be offered for Laura and/or contributions made to Immaculate Conception Church of Custer, in her name.
