- OBITUARY: WILLIAM FARRINGER LENIHAN (BILL)
November 29, 1930 - May 20, 2020
On Monday, May 20, 2020, Willam Farringer Lenihan (Bill), loving husband and father of five children, and two step-children passed away at age 89.
Bill was born on November 29, 1930, in Seattle, WA to Emmett and Ursula Lenihan. He served in the US Armed Forces in 1953 and received an honorable discharge in 1955. He received his law degree from the University of Washington in 1958 and practiced business law for 43 years in Seattle.
On April 25, 1953, he married Theresa Daudlin. They raised three sons, Brian, Terry, and Brendan, and two daughters, Colleen and Kelly.
He was remarried to Louise A. Johnson on April 23, 1979. Louise has two children, a daughter Katherine and a son Greg.
Bill had a passion for sailing, classical music, and alpine skiing. He also loved photography, and he combined his favorite hobbies to create an extraordinary life. His numerous sailing trophies aboard his boat, "The Paddy Wagon" were among his prized accomplishments. He was also an avid classical music lover and a collector of the classics. He was known for his quick wit, love of wine, and his kind and compassionate spirit.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, Emmett Sr, mother, Ursula, brother Emmett Jr. and his wife Louise.
He is survived by his seven children, his sister Ursula, and several cousins, nieces, and a nephew.
A funeral service will not be held due to Covid-19 restrictions. His ashes will be placed with his parents at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery; 205 NE 205th St, Shoreline, WA 98155.
