James Thomas Morris was born December 17, 1869 near Marble, Arkansas. When a young man, he was converted although never placing his membership with any particular denomination. He has always lived a Christian life and in his last illness he said "He was ready to go and meet his master." He was united in marriage, January 7, 1891 to Lillie Jane Disney at Marble, Arkansas. The family moved to Oklahoma in 1908 and have made the Omega community their home ever since. Death came un-expectedly March 25, 1943 at 9:22 o'clock p.m. at his home near Omega. He had reached the age of 73 years, 3 months and 8 days. Of his thirteen children, six children and his wife have preceded him in death. Those surviving are: five daughters, Mrs. Ed Adams of Hitchcock, Oklahoma, Mrs. Carl Haffner of Cashion, Oklahoma, Mrs. C. F. Lovelace of Lynden, Washington, Mrs. George Opdenhoff of Omega and Lora Belle Morris of the home; two sons James Morris Jr. U.S.N., Corpus Christi, Texas and Stanley Morris of Baldwin Park, California. 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. One brother J. H. Morris of Fallbrook, California; one sister, Mrs. Mary Spradling of Huntsville, Arkansas. Other relatives and many friends. Services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 from the Omega High School Auditorium. Interment in the Omega Cemetery.
